I checked Mini for ticks last night, then spent 2 hours taking off hundreds of tiny ticks. Ugh. Went to bed at 5 am.

Wow! That's aweful! Good thing you were able to help control a tiny bit of the population. She must have gone through the tick nursery a few times.

I just couldn’t do that every night. And the tick poison doesn’t work. Is all of Virginia like that? Or is it because you live in the woods?

Pretty sure it's because we live in the woods. The dogs go all over the place, looking for rabbits. Usually i find less than 10 ticks on each dog, sometimes one or none.

The weather man just said this month was the hottest month ever recorded in Abilene. Sixty two days so far this year 100 degrees or warmer

Gosh help me. I actually need to contact the vet to see if Goose needs anything different for our road trip adventure. But I remember last year when we went to Bodega Bay he picked up a couple ticks. Luckily enough, they show up real easy against a white coat, so long as you don't give them time to burrow deep.
