Still up Granny? I have been listening to flying squirrels scampering around , as well as the rain. And thinking. Plus using my phone. So i really have not tried to sleep yet. Going to be hard to get up in a few hours.

I got a phone call at 3am about the weather coming in. An auto message. We are under a warning or something starting this evening. Hellova time to call.

You win, Twisted. It was 2° above here when I got up at 7, -2° now with snow snow snow along with wind. Wind chill -24.

I'm about to bundle up and go out and check the chickens. Not looking forward to it.

Not supposed to hit us till noon tomorrow. Cold is gonna last through the weekend, but only about 3 hours of blizzard condition snow. We're all battened down here, too. Had The Kid fill up the wood box as high as his head. Cleaned out the wood stove and started a new fire. Think we're ready ... hope downed branches don't knock the power out. Barring that, we should be good.

DH went out yesterday and brought in a big wagon full of wood to supplement the face cord we have stacked in the shop. Anything to keep from having to go out and fill the wagon three times a day.

We bought one of those big garden type wagons with the collapsible sides at Tractor Supply and it has become one of the protected pieces of machinery on the farm. We use that thing for hauling everything from bags of feed to wood.

We should be alright too unless the power goes out and even if it does, they work hard to bring it back on line here.

What's the temp down there? It's -2° here at the moment and the wind chill is something like -24°

Our little cold snap ended... we might even get a few sprinkles tonight. I cannot imagine the cold most of you are expecting. Hope everyone stays safe and warm. May your power companies keep the lights on!

Even here in Texas, we're getting cold weather. Woke up to 17F and going down all day and night to about 9F tomorrow morning. Wind is blowing about 30 to 40 mph. Had a dusting of snow but not expected to get more. That's miserable for Texas.
