No, no, no. I read a post on Pinterest from a Chief who said that the problem with Native Americans is that they set too much on blood quantum. That if people with any degree of Native Blood would stand up and say I AM NATIVE AMERICAN the numbers in tribes would blossom.

Also another said that he had seen people with 1/500th quantum who respected the elders and kept up the traditions better than people who were 100% quantum Native.

My great and great great grandmother were Cherokee. I AM CHEROKEE! And very proud of the fact.

I'm metis/latina but the thing is unless you can trace the family tree it hard to know what is truth and what is family folklore unless you are a card carrying tribe member federally it doesn't really mean anything other than neat family story. Specially if you don't go out of your way to learn the history and customs of the tribe.

I was told we have Indian blood in my Mother's family, and i believed it for a long time. But when i had my DNA analyzed, none showed up. Lots of European blood though.

We got family tree documentations on mom side and both on dad's. Mom side there some other family lore/rumor which we need dna test to confirm on but it deciding which place to use that's good and wont sell our dna info
