Having worked in the rescue industry and with rescue orgs 100% deep research the rescue. Good ones will make sure the animal goes to a matching house and not whoever pays the most. They also will realize when it's better to euthanized a suffering animal instead of milking it's misery for donations.

Same here, also on other species like horses and goats. We've spent a fair share of coin to save goats but only when quality of life wasn't impacted, and it paid off helping find a cure for somethings

Went out and gave the chickens scratch, which i only feed them when it's extra cold out. Feels like 30° now, and windy.
