Granny's gone and done it again

Robert had a she[hard dog when he was 3-4 yrs old. He cant possibly remember her can he? It got to the point where Robert was running the fence barking at people. He bonded with the dog and thought it was how he was supposed to act. He would sniff people when they came over and he wasnt talking yet. I decided the best thing was to rehome the dog.

The #1 cause of death for domestic cats and dogs is simply overpopulation. Spay/ neuter stops that. Something like 6 million cats and dogs are put to death every year because there are no homes for them. Some of them are purebred. A cat can become pregnant at, I think 4 months of age. She can have two litters a year. She typically has 4 kittens per litter. That's 8 kittens a year. Eight kittens times 10 years, is 80 kittens. I can't even do the math to extrapolate her kittens having kittens, but that one unspayed cat can produce thousands of cats over her lifetime.

Not if you keep your dog with you at all times, no?
It’s called an accidental pregnancy for a reason. When female dogs go into heat, they naturally become extra receptive to male dogs. That’s why there are cases where female dogs in heat run away…or male dogs run away to find female dogs in heat. There’s really no way to prevent it in the long run.

the way I see it, why keep intact dogs if you’re not planning on breeding them?
