This is a very good answer. I also understand if that's not possible, but don't just dismiss the possibility. Our parents travelled the road we're on before we did and often times they aren't as outdated as we think they are.

eeeeiiik. Happy update!! This morning my PE grade went up to an A-
Might’ve come to conclusions too quickly last night

Oh and also, school is early release today, so I’m already home. Annnnd we have Friday off. Plusssss my mom won the court case!!!!!!! ya’ll, it feel SO GOOD to breathe. I’m so blessed I couldn’t go with my mom to court (cuz of finals) but two of her church friends went with her—praying as the case was going on. I don’t know them, but I’m so grateful my mom had someone to go with. Oh and I passed all my finals with flying colors. I must’ve woke up on the right side of the bed today cause this has got to be the best day I’ve had in a while.

@troyer, we have considered hitching ours to a wagon or sled and having them 'pull their weight' so to speak.

We set and talked to our new vet about them and got a lot of training tips but she just laughed and said, first off accept the fact that Cattle Dogs are wired differently from any other dog alive and on top of that they are smart.

My husband had seen the pups before I did and came home more upset than I had seen him a long time. The pups were in a small pen. No socialization, covered in mud and the real shocker, they had stopped feeding them. The only thing they gave them to eat was a dead goat kid and a dead rabbit. They wanted 25$ per pup. I talked them down to 25 for all of them.

It's so sad. Puppy mills are all over around us. The local Amish see it as a way to make 'fast money' and as a result the area is glutted with puppies of all shape and sizes. Plus, they swap dogs back and forth with one another so there are a lot of cross bred dogs running around the area.

So when my husband came home and told me about these pups and asked me what we were going to do because if we chose one or two the remaining dogs would surely be dead before very long I told him I would sleep on it and pray on it and have a solution in the morning. Next morning I got up, made breakfast and told him to get ready because we had to go rescue some puppies.

They have passed laws recently trying to clamp down on the puppy mills. I know of at least one Amish farm near us that is no longer breeding dogs so maybe some good is happening.

Here I try to walk every day weather permitting so it isn't hard to put a leash on one of the dogs and taking them along. 45 minutes or more hiking in the timber does take the edge off of them but being young, a short nap and they are good to go again.

I've said that if I was about 35 and looking for a side hustle I would train them to run cattle and start a 'Rent a Cattle Dog' company and take them around the area to help work cattle for the many cattle herders around Missouri.

But I'm not 35 so their job is to keep us moving and guard the farm. They do a good job doing both.
