Around the time my #1son was born, a gorilla at the San Francisco zoo had a baby girl. It was only about a 20 minute drive from where we lived, and I would take baby and stroller and get some exercise at the zoo. Spent the most time watching the mama, Bawang, with her baby Nneka (na-NE-ka)... a little envious because she didn't have to change diapers, but she was such a patient and loving mama... so gentle with the baby. And several years later Bawang adopted a new baby boy that had been rejected by his mother, and Nneka (about 11 yrs old) became a big sister.
