Granny's gone and done it again

True. But they aren’t standard for NDG showing. Plus, they pose a threat to our other animals (emphasis on Kiki, lol). But yeah, if I were keeping my goats as just pets, I would consider leaving them horned.
I had a horned goat years ago and she kept sticking her head through the fence and getting stuck. I couldn't wrestle her head back through and had to cut the fence. She finally did it during a hail storm. After cutting her loose I took her to the sale barn. I hope she was delicious. 😑

When they do that, i duct tape pvc pipe across the horns. They are not able to stick their heads outside through the fence. So far, i have not had a nigerian who couldn't figure out how to get out if they stuck their heads through. We call the pvc hat , the CROWN of Shame!

A neighbor here has dozens of goats and kids that often get out and cross the road; it's not unusual to see one with its head in the fence. Older now and wiser I have observed that I have yet to see a dead goat hanging in the fence.
