My grandfather never owned a tractor but he had a real good Jenny. I can vaguely remember following him in the fields while he as hollering "Gee, Haw" and then telling me to not walk there.... I wish I had the movies my uncle made of me following him in that field both when he was planting and when he had a crank duster spewing out DDT.

I just came in from the final round and bed check. I'm so bummed about the heat and what it is doing to the kids. This is our first year with chickens in Lower Alabama and it is ruthless this year. Last year and no chickens I don't think we had day after day like this. I'm looking for misters starting tomorrow. Lowes may have them in the irrigation area. I did a once over mist where I could tonight and the cool was almost instantaneous.

It is a scorcher. Went walking for 1 mile. That’s it too hot.

Ugh. We were over 100⁰ today too. Inside got up to 90... I was hugging a fan all afternoon. Cooling down now but not expected to go below 60 tonight. Another hot one tomorrow, then it cools down during the week.

Our humidity is 94% right now. Thank goodness the ambient temp is only 74F. Tomorrow's high will only be 88, a welcome relief after two days of triple digits. Possibility of storms. But if they bring rain, I say, bring it! My lilies did not bloom this year due to heat.
