Those look addictive!9 have hatched and 27 are either zipping or have pipped. The white one is the latest hatch. I hope we get more white ones! My favorite so far is the silver but he’s not in the pic. The tuxedo is a fun lil guy too.View attachment 3564127

are they still around? Those look addictive!
When I was a kid, my mom finished hatching a dozen CA quail eggs after dad accidentally disturbed the nest while turning a manure pile with the tractor.
They were the most amazing little creatures, like bumble bees! If you put your hand in, all 12 would race to squeeze under, and they fit! I will never forget those babies.
She raised them and let them go at the farm. Few years later there was a covey of 80-90 birds. They knew a good thing... she fed them every day!
gnight Larry, sleep wellGoodnight everyone. I'm out of ice cream and I want to be horizontal before the meds kick in.
I don't see many quail up there any more. Lots of turkeys. Wild turkeys were reintroduced to this county sometime after the quail experience, and it seemed to drive the quail away, but it could have been something else.are they still around?
There is a healthy quail population in our neighborhood, and now that the weather is a little warmer, I'm hoping to see babies soon. They are a month late!
