It's so pretty. We rarely get to see them in this stage. I think he's attracted to the relatively easy pickings in the neighborhood. I haven't seen any other deer around. Heard coyotes yipping last night so we might see more soon.Love his velvet.
I know people here keep emu in with livestock for protection. They can be fericious... modern dinosaurs.I wonder if it would be possible to have Emu guard chickens when I'm not out with them?

The bright green patch just to the left of the sunflower stalk is hundreds of tiny oaks trying to grow out of the stump, which is still rooted on one side. Stump needs digging out, but too hot now.
