Granny's gone and done it again

Poor guy. I wonder what happened.
Not sure, but my dad had a resident doe up at the farm with a similar thing... broken jaw or torn lower lip or something. She was around for at least 6 yrs. Usually had twins.

Love his velvet.
It's so pretty. We rarely get to see them in this stage. I think he's attracted to the relatively easy pickings in the neighborhood. I haven't seen any other deer around. Heard coyotes yipping last night so we might see more soon.

I wonder if it would be possible to have Emu guard chickens when I'm not out with them?
I know people here keep emu in with livestock for protection. They can be fericious... modern dinosaurs.

Llamas are also a popular guard animal around here. More common than GLS dogs.

Reminds me of my sad front yard. We still haven't decided what to do with all the space left by the loss of the oak tree.

The bright green patch just to the left of the sunflower stalk is hundreds of tiny oaks trying to grow out of the stump, which is still rooted on one side. Stump needs digging out, but too hot now.

Yes, had ab apple tree completely uprooted. Not pulled but done in a different way. No volunteer growth there, but, the two in the back and the cherry tree. 🙄 If you look close to the left, there's some kind of weed ..I'm pretty sure it is..thise leaves have emoji faces..😆 Like this..😑
