I have never taken a break between nighttime chores but tonight is different. It is a must. I'm so weak I have too.

Work and life getting crazy. Work especially.

Been about ready to walk tbh. Darn the fact that I'm broke and haven't been able to find a job that pays me the same or better.

I got a talking to by the boss lady cause last Tuesday I didn't want to come in for the afternoon instead of the morning and work late into the night to get payroll done. (was missing a bunch of crews Monday, and she emails me monday night asking me to come in tues afternoon instead, I volunteered to drive down in the morning, head back, work from home for a few hours then come down - this was TWO DAYS after Kira's spay for crying out loud I was not about to leave her alone all freaking day.

She seemed to think that hubs should make dinner/do all the domestics so I can work well into the evening to get payroll done since I do that sometimes anyway.

No. I do that when we're working on a shortened timetable due to long weekends, or when our foremen can't be bothered to turn their stuff in on time with much grumbling...not because of your poor planning and because you don't want to leave one of our guesstimators in the office by himself for an hour because other admin needed to take her cat to the vet. (other guesstimator is a big boy and is more than capable of closing up the office by himself, in fact he usually does since other admin leaves about half an hour before he does)

Note: I am not angry in the least about other admin taking her kitty in to the vet. My rage is not directed at her.

My rage is more based on evenings SHOULD be mine. As is I can never do "taco tuesdays" with our friends since they do it at 5, I'm usually done at six - if there's nothing crazy. Sometimes I'm working later. That happens.

But working late because YOU don't trust your employees? Who have been working with you for YEARS now? Nope.

*edit* she also wanted to run payroll on wednesday instead of thursday like she normally does cause she wanted to go visit her daughter -they're gone for a week. She does this even though I am perfectly capable to run payroll, and have run payroll quite often.


Tomorrow Kira will likely be coming to the office with me since Other Admin is leaving early again for a doc appointment. So I checked with my coworkers - take your Kira to work day is acceptable, so she'll come with me. This could be interesting...

Made my rounds on foot because I'm out of gas for the garden tractor and forgot to take a flashlight. All coops locked down and the birds that failed to roost in the safety of their coops are on their on. I can't eat them all.

Well it is down to 81° out side and 76° inside and need to get sobered up from the last round of meds so I can fill the tray for tonight and get it right. Over all I've had one of the worst days in a long time. The combination of heat, meds, age, etc is wearing me down. I've put up posters around town trying to sell off some hens but none have sold so far. Once the Turkey fryer is up and running so we can scald then for plucking our feed bill is going down at least.

Im sorry youve had a hard day. 400 birds is 350 too many IMO . I hope you get some of them sold.

I hate insomnia. I was asleep and woke up and now cant get back to sleep.

When that happens to me I either read something on my phone or just start praying for everybody I can think of. Eventually I usually do fall asleep again, and dven if I don't I feel that at least I am resting.
