Oh we always turn it way down and bank it for the night with a big ol' sleeper at the back. Then in the morning we open up the draft, throw in some smaller pieces and have it snapping and crackling and warming up the room again in no time.

Hey Cap, Congrats on the sales! Hows the weather there?

It was raining when i left home, but it cleared up and got sunny. I put up the pop up tent ( that hubby said i wouldn't use because it was supposed to get very windy ) i was glad to have the shade. It did get breezy, but didn't blow the tent over.
I was very glad i went.

Predator dog was back at dawn. Had I not been up it could have been worse. I saw him attacking out the kitchen window. Enough is enough. I found my beloved Shuster (Avatar) severely wounded in my carport where he sleeps high up. When he got off the roost the killer dog was waiting on him. What would anyone else do to protect there freedom loving chickens. I'll protect from coyotes...

He has bite wounds on his back and they have been treated. He's lethargic but did eat and drink. I don't know how many dead I will find now as I comb the farm. Several roosters slept on top of the coops because there were to many to keep with the hens. More coops are to be built (small for a roo and 4 hens) but I just can't physically do it alone. There were two dogs this morning.....
