Made it home still in one piece. At least all the pieces are still connected. It's still chilly and I don't have feathers or fur but I do have a nice blanket.

Working on my first cup of coffee since early spring of this year. Need the caffeine so I want sleep today. Everything is ready to give some roosters a forever nap. I just want it to warm up some before I start playing in the water and with knives.

Ma's gonna make an apple and biscuit treat today. One can of apple pie filling and one can of those big Grands biscuits. It's like a Danish treat. We've had one once before and next time I hope we try it with cherry pie filling. I have time for a nap before lunch. When lunch is over with it will be warm enough to play in the water that might get loose in the plucker. Wishing all a great day ahead.

I went out to light the fire for the turkey fryer and with what feels to be 30+ mph gusts I decided to wait until tomorrow after this front is done trying to make its presence known. I'll give the boys a light feeding tonight and by noon tomorrow they will be empty and ready once again for a trip to freezer camp. Now I know why I need some kind of small building like my grandfather used in the 40's to process chickens in. He supplied a local airbase I think. His little operation was government inspected and never once did he get a citation. My mom didn't tell me about this until long after his death and my fathers death. Dad and his brothers all worked in the family business processing chickens,
