Good morning. Larry, what are you going to do with all your chicks?
Some were to sell and some of the best to increase the breeders, and some culls for the freezer. Out son is bringing us a small chest freezer that we can use just for chicken. He can not longer use it and it's been in storage and that is bad on them so he will drop if off here on his way to FL. I was scheduled to process chickens this week but not gonna happen.

We just got a call for 20 dozen eggs. Wife is packing them now for a regular customer that gets 20-25 dozen at a time. Hens are laying well again even with shorter hours of day light. By Feb 1 they should be laying even more. I am working to build a flock of free ranging Ancona layers that don't require do much attention and feed for eggs and a flock of Dark Cornish crosses for meat birds. Our two original pens of Delaware and RIR layers will be phased out. We have a new pen of RIR girls cranking out eggs like crazy. 15 of them and get as many as 14 eggs a day now from them. We will keep at least 10 of them if not all. There is little demand for RIR layers around here. We will start advertising here locally a month before TSC gets their shipments in. I'm seeing several breeds already sold out for 2024. One that I wanted not even being offered this year. Finding good brood stock is not easy since the lock downs.

Took a while to proof my typos but I think I found them all. :)
