Granny's gone and done it again

never heard of it.
It's an oriental fruit that may be very good fresh but candied like the other fruits is just really yucky to me. I'm sticking to pineapple, cherries and pecans in my fruit cake. Citron is used by a lot of bakeries to cut costs.

There is also another citron that as a kid I played with. They are normally about the size of an icebox watermelon and grow on a vine that looks like a watermelon vine but they never get a juicy flesh in the middle. I've never seen anyone eat one or sold. At one time FL orange groves were full of them. Since hand cultivation stopped in favor of chemical weed control citrons are mostly gone.
