Did Pi have to spend the night at the vets? She didnt like this vet and the first thing the vet said to me was We dont have emergency vet here. So what am I supposed to do if something goes south? I cant drive to KY. Louisville er vet there.
They wanted him too, but I said no. It was a very small risk that the grapes would cause trouble and frankly it was just too expensive. Would have added $1500 to the already exorbitant emergency bill. Pi was in a treatment room without me for a couple hrs, and I know it was stressful for him, but he survived, no ill effects.
He won't follow any stranger into a strange room. Even with the vet I really like, I had to give Pi a little shove from behind to get him moving into the back room for a blood draw. Vet wanted to be sure it wasn't heartworms causing his heart murmur.
If something goes south... ? Odds are very good that your healthy young dog will weather the spay procedure just fine. But we know that bad things happen sometimes. Risk is just part of life. There's risk if you don't get her spayed. There's risk if you drove all the way to a big city where they have emergency care.
You can't dwell on the risk because it never ever goes away.
Instead, focus on positive thinking...
Will the happy outcome you desire. Send out some prayers. Imagine the future with happy Fawn in your lives. I do believe in the power of positive thinking... good vibes keep the bad vibes away.
