Granny's gone and done it again

I was gifted a couple cornish x hens once because the owner didnt know what they were. They were the sweetest bird ever and I barely had the heart to do the deed. Made me sick. I swore never again..
I didn't butcher any of my 25. I've taken care of them from the git go with no plan of eating them. The place where I got them posted that they only lay small eggs. Mine lay more like duck eggs. They are by no means efficient layers but very friendly pets. No problem to catch one as they don't even try to run away. When one was a pullet (the size of a RIR hen) she would come to my feet and look up at me. I'd pick her up to look at her my nose to her beak and then put her down. She wander off a step or two and come back and look up as to say "Do it again daddy". I've have some of their eggs now ready for the incubator. The pop is a white giant rooster. Those boys spec for a 13lb adult rooster. Should make for an interesting cross. Looking to produce a meat bird that's big and fast growing without the health issues of Cornish Rocks.

I remember going to look at some chickens to buy years ago. This lady is showing me her chickens, points to a huge white chicken and says..I don't know what's wrong with that one. It just won't walk. It eats a lot! Drinks fine. I chuckled. Said that's a meat chicken and explained them to her. She didn't know what she had.

I will be interested to see what you get from the eggs!
