Granny's gone and done it again

Usually not. But even Canada may be doing the push to electric furnaces/water heaters/stoves - always had electric stoves but natural gas furnace/hot water heater when I was up there. And when it’s bloody freakin cold…it’d be a strain on even the stoutest system.

All progress is good :)

This is my island in the sun (just think of the rats in a muppets Christmas carol hang on I must find it now)

So the chickens went off to their new home last night. I am officially chicken-less and it ducks.

Work is driving me batty but I’ll rant on that one later. Got the house mostly packed - got maybe one last box to go.

Purchasers are doing a final walk through tomorrow.

My OG girls, Sam and Merida…

Ninja edit. H2O I’m with you. Hubs got a new handgun though for fun and protection…I made the suggestion I should go down to the range and take some lessons on it. He seemed a little hurt I didn’t want him to teach me but….
I can’t learn from my DH. I know this is bad but I know he doesn’t follow rules all the time. I want to learn from a certified teacher. I am feeling weird about it. I am having a guy I don’t know come to my house for the class.

Well same reason for me, and hubs can’t seem to remember that I wasn’t brought up around guns or anything either.

Well our temp is down to 64° and the sun is still shining. Not a drop of rain today and I'm happy about that. I hope to have the three cattle panels on the top tomorrow and then get the back sealed in and then work on the front with the door. I think I will put the two roosting bars inside and assembled before the front side is enclosed with the door. I need to blueprint this one so I can make all the parts for the rest of them and then I can assemble faster.

I'm sore and tired. Did a full days work. Hard manual labor. Then there was time for some fun. This boy is the most patient subject for the camera. He lets me or my wife pick him up and groom him without fuss once in the house. He has a pad out back in the sunroom during this bitter cold coming in.

68° and feels like 69°
The two sides and the back wall frames are done and ready for siding on them. Have some of that roofing metal that is shiny and will never fade in my life time to go on the back and half way up the sides. Half of the sides get 1/2" hardware cloth from the front to where it meets the metal material. This 12x13 coop is 40% done with just the two of us working on it. Catch my breath and then will be back at it until the rain starts. Hoping the rain fizzles out. It would be nice it they guess wrong this time in my favor.
Sure would like to see pics of this when it's done, Larry. Can't imagine it in my head ...

Sam and Merida…
I have a Merida! Is one of my SS. She was the bravest, boldest, most independent as a puppy, lol. Grew up to be the same and is a bit obnoxious with it. When I feed afternoon snacks she's a bit impatient and if I don't hurry she's liable to jump up and knock the treat bowl out of my hand. The other day when I had my back to the flock to open the wellhouse door (where the treats are kept) she actually jumped up and kicked me in the back pockets to hurry me along! I turned around and spoke sternly to her, saying, "That's one!"
