We went out together checking feed and water and got done early. They even went to their roosts so we could close coop doors early. I don't have to go out except to fetch Honey and Legs that sleep inside in a kennel of their own. They both get a little treat and some snuggle time before bedtime. I swear they get better attention than a lot of people have ever known.

You two work it out together.

I'm tired and need to get the incubator ready for lock down. Should be back around to stir the kettle sometime tonight. Stay safe everyone.

It was a fireplace originally but now has a wood stove insert. This is a big house, 3 BR upstairs and a full basement down. I can't see heating the whole place with propane, we'd go broke! So we just heat the upstairs with wood and heat the two bedroomz we're using with electric space heaters at night. Thd furnace usually kicks on early in thr morning for a bit before we get the fire going again, but not much. We damp it down at night so it just smolders.


I was going to tell you it's anal glands but everybody else beat me to it. Feed her pumpkin, it's supposed to help keep them from clogging up. I give mine about a Tbsp every day with one of their meals. I actually make little balls out of canned pumpkin with my melon baller and freeze them. They love them!

I'm so glad! I bet you are too! You know we love her already as she's part of the family. I know you're taking good care of her!

We are up in double digits now and likely to stay that way for a while, several days anyway. But along with the warm comes the rain. We're letting the fire go out so we can clean out the ashes, will let the furnace take over for a few days.

In other news, my CornishX are on their way! Should be here by Wednesday I hope.

We're now in the upper 40's! In January!

Well after a rather boring day except my rock collecting, I need to suck it up and go feed the goats. The hoses are both still frozen. What a pain. Hopefully the temperatures will trend up so I can fill the stock tanks.
I hope everyone has a good night. Going to toss more wood on the fire and go outside. That little buck I bought is a great escape artist. He escaped from his pen, then escaped from the barn through the Dutch door. Then he got through the fence and into the goat pasture with the does!

Oh my! At first I read that your horses froze. Then I thought wait, goats, she has goats, and hoses.
