Some breeders are using American White Bresse roosters on Cornish Rock hybrids for meat birds that can now breed naturally and grow quite quickly with no leg or heart problems. Nice birds for the homesteaders.

I know a local here that AI's all of his dogs. They can't breed naturally. Don't know the breed. He was here working for me one day and told me about how and why he did it then.I had to AI a dog once. He had no idea what to do, and the vet was no help.
This dog was young and kept getting on the wrong end. Sigh.I know a local here that AI's all of his dogs. They can't breed naturally. Don't know the breed. He was here working for me one day and told me about how and why he did it then.
Can't. I'd have to keep the whole flock in, and it's too small for that. When we've done this in the past, we've found that rodeoing them in like this for 3 or 4 nights is usually sufficient, as long as we keep the brooder shut. Which of course we have to now with the Cornish babies in there.Keep them inside for a week until they get the ldea that's their place.
Do it! That! Would be interesting!I'll have to breed Legs to a silkie hen....![]()
