Instead of going out in the heat I canned 10 pints of potatoes, made a loaf of bread, cooked dinner and did some necessary house cleaning. I did break out in a sweat!

Just got done with a 2 hr. Power outage. Went downstairs where it was cooler..still in the 90's out there. I sat in the car to charge my phone a bit..and sit in some air conditioner. There were 20,000 people out of power. Our whole county and another. So far the word is from a fire right up here by the big canyon we're by. Will see what is said tomorrow. I'm sitting upstairs now waiting for it to cool down. Getting better.

83 here but feels like 90. Gonna actually be in the 90's over the weekend but feel hotter. Thanks, humidity!

Our porch thermometer is having trouble deciding if it is 96° or 95°. Either way that is to hot for me. I'm going out now to tend the other 3 coops before it gets any worse.

Up to 99 a couple of days ago.

Weather is still saying 99° here tomorrow which is way above avg. Finished my chores outside for the day in the dark. Now the kids in the outdoor brooder box will have the run of the big brooder coop and the indoor brooder kids can take over the outdoor larger brooder box. Looks like in the next 10 day we will be ready for the incoming 25 kids.

I've had my meds along with a bowl of fresh peaches topped with some fresh blackberries from our thornless patch we planted two years ago. I need to increase the blackberry plants 8x as they are so good. Never before tasted blackberries like these. Those Arkansas plant scientists know what they are doing when they release a new variety of blackberry.

Absolutely. My grandmother would stick her collards in the freezer for a little bit to make them taste like they had been frosted on.

Hello this looks like fun and very informative. I am new to chickens I pick them up next week. I have 4and they are raised together but are different breeds. I am looking forward to some advice. I do like to name and spoil my animals. Hopefully they will want to be spoiled too

Misty finally got busy having kids! It's too dark for photos in the barn right now. Last time I went out there, she had 3. Really nicely spotted!
