Good night. :)

No sign of Twist yet? I know what it is like to have so many irons in the fire that I can't keep any of them hot. l am struggling between the food plots for us called gardens and building coops as well as keeping existing coops in feed and fresh water. And now all of these things are being done in heat that can be deadly. We are under a heat advisory again tomorrow. Make that heat advisory for today as it is today already. In the heat we are having like it is every summer this time of year we can walk the 10 coops putting out feed and water and by the time we get back inside neither of us have a dry stitch on. I've been going through at least 3-4 sets of work clothes a day. I am thankful I still have the strength to do this and am not in a nursing home like many my age.

Granny here is a pea picken wash tub https://www.zoro.com/zoro-select-utility-tub-35-gal-silver-3hnf7/i/G0766997/?gclsrc=3p.ds

May need two of these. We had one in TN but have not seen it here.
Hubby has one in the basement for a percussion instrument. He has never used it, nor the washboard, nor many other weird items he picks up at the flea market. He can play almost any instrument, but then he comes up with this stuff. He says someday he wants to have a hillbilly band. Hmm. I do not see that in our future. :gig

Never dried and seldom canned. Frozen in pint bags to taste like fresh shelled out of season. Ham hock or thick sliced bacon to season and after cooked some pepper vinegar drizzle on them. Just a dab.
Frozen peas are the best. Canned ones are mushy.

I dont understand how I was gone for an hour here. Went potty. took my meds and heated my coffee up. Thats it. How did that take an hour? I have been noticing this a lot lately. Missing time.
That happens to me a lot. Pretty much my whole life. I go off to do one thing, then do another, and another, and get back to my desk and realize my coffee is still in the microwave. Get back up, go to reheat it and do a few things outside. Come back in, sit down, realize my coffee is still in the microwave. :barnie

You never know. He may be the next Blue Grass Legend. We had friends back in FL that were part of a Blue Grass Band. One lady played the spoons. I saw this in TN but have yet to find a place the hangout here in AL yet. I have not had to look but if we find such a place and it has evening ours after the chickens have gone to bed I'd sure go.

Well I'm going to try one more time to keep my pillow happy as the first try at it was an utter failure. All I'm doing is laying there thinking about all that needs doing tomorrow and now the forecast has changed to morning rain to go along with afternoon rain. You are not supposed to harvest peas and beans when the plants are wet. Both are at their peak of quality now. The plan was to pick them early when the dew is off and get them inside in the AC spread out on paper on the floor to chill while we shell.

On top of everything else I've got 3 hens that get meds every day now. Sometimes every other day for their leg problems. On of the young ones is still a pullet and both legs are not working so she has a makeshift nest right by my chair where I can sit and rest while I hold the feed dish and water dish for her. She will not eat or drink unless I hold the dishes for her. The others feed themselves but this one was so traumatized from the beating a bunch of hormonal young roosters I'm thankful she is recovering. Most of the roosters involved will be in freezer camp by the weekend. We were hoping to have some ready to smoke for the 4th but that is not going to happen this year.
