When the person thats doing the typing/recording the trial do they use short hand and thats what you get to translate or??

I download the audio from the hearing. I use Express Scribe (a program on my computer) to hear it. I wear headphones.

On one channel is the judge, another is the government lawyer, another one is the respondent/alien, and if they have an attorney, they're on another channel and if an interpreter is needed, he/she is on yet another channel. I have to type verbatim into a MS Word template. Sometimes I hear someone say something under their breath (usually the judge) like, "Oh shit," I have to type that.

Our lunch was souper hard to make. Used a soup bowl with a juicy peach cut up in it. Some really good cantaloupe chunks in it. The it got covered in a little snack size bowl of mandarins. That's how we cooled down coming in from picking 10+ more gallons of zipper cream peas. We probably will not start shelling until 7pm tonight.

We were very fortunate to make it back with our bounty of peas. It was 98° as we got back inside the house. I'm ready for a nap to fully recover.
