Granny's gone and done it again

How did he do today?
He has a sore throat an is very tired. I'm pampering him with hot chicken noodle soup. He is scheduled to get it done in 6 months again. It comes from the Crohn's. So thankful that all medications and supplements can come in either liquid, injections or chopped pills. It takes a lot of work getting insurance to cover it but they are kind!

How is the crohns involved?

Did they cut you open? Did you ever have any c sections?
The Endoscopy you know..I've had that done for a couple of different reasons. Stretching, and to just check. Never a C section. Had a hysterectomy that I almost didn't make it through. Lost half my blood volume, had 4 pints of blood given. That feels yucky. Long story of Dr taking his time answering his beeper as I had already been sent to my room. I've had my neck fused. Shoulder surgery. Appendix. Gallbladder. Hand. A few personal surgeries. :) Back in the 80's and 90's. Too many. Still need things done, I just put them off.

How is the crohns involved?
Think of the scar tissue on a hand, it's a little the same, hard, thick skin. If Crohn's can't be controlled, over time the esophagus wall becomes thick (narrow) and he gets growths that block it. He swallows, chokes and it comes back up. He also has strictures/stenosis in some of the intestine.

Very sad to see a Loved one losing mental acuity. Some day it may be me. If I get there, hope I have a care taker with a lot of empathy that will allow me to age gracefully, kindly help me make decisions if I can't comprehend decision making anymore. I worked in a retirement community, Loved helping people. It doesn't matter if there is a diagnosis of dementia or not, you can see when a person loses mental acuity and we need to be there for then regardless of age
I lost my husband to Alzheimer’s. They said a combination as dementia has several different types..under the umbrella. Alzheimers/Frontal.
I used to work as a CNA in a nursing home then an Assisted Home Living. Saw plenty of dementia patients. Never ever even thought my husband would be ill with that debilitating disease. We were blessed to be able to keep him home to pass. My son and his wife moved in to help me when it started to get hard. Then they stayed to help me with my health problems. So grateful for them.
