Can I talk about my chicks? At 10-11 weeks they are still chicks. I've never had chicks like these. They are the gentlest, sweetest, meekest things. Not pets (well, one may be trying to be.) But ... well, they won't "shoo." I can't chase or herd them from Point A to Point B. They just won't! Instead they just mill around my feet till I fear I may tread on them. So I have to LEAD them to where I want them to go! They follow me like puppies. Which can be challenging, bc sometimes I can't fit where I need them to go, lol! I feel like the Pied Piper.
And in Other News, I have taken a page from Cap and Star and finally named the different sections of my run. The little fenced area right around the hen house/coop still has no name. The first big run adjacent to it is now Middle Earth. The next big run next to THAT is the Far Side. And the former brooder run, which abuts the no-name area and also is adjacent to Middle Earth, is now Rooster Run. Although of course the boys in it are only cockerels.
