Aggravating, to say the least!
I wouldn't go to the tractor supply vets if I'd have someone local. The first time Butchy Boy got a vaccination there, he cried all day. All the local vets said take him to the ER, they don't take new clients. I just wanted to know what kind of pain meds I can give. He cried all night so very early Sunday we went the 30 miles to the ER. He had a swollen shoulder at the injection site and a toradol shot made him pain free. Now I ask for Benadryl. But I don't think the tractor supply vets are good with the needle

Can't sleep. I think maybe I did briefly. Dangit, Larry, you're contagious! Lol.

I think something bit me ... the day before yesterday, let's see. Monday I guess, I noticed two odd black marks on my left leg just below my knee, on the inside. They didn't hurt. Close together, like a snake bite. I made a joke about them being snake bite. I thought maybe I had gotten abrasions from a tiny sand bur that might have fallen inside the top of my boot. Couldn't think what else it might be. Tuesday I noticed they were getting a bright red perimeter around them. Still no pain. Put Neosporin on them. No biggie. Last night, even brighter red and ... whoa. One of them was oozing a little pus. Still no pain or discomfort, but ... this seemed a little concerning. I sterilized an Xacto blade and proceeded to open them up. They were not scabbed exactly, but the skin over them was flat and black. Like ... dead, burnt almost. Necrotic? And underneath ... deep. But no odor. I thought ... brown recluse spider bite? Going to clinic tomorrow. This needs care. Meanwhile I packed them with activated charcoal and put a bandaid over them.
Feel better!

I get them vaccinated at tractor supply because local vets don't take new clients. Tractor supply says one thing then when I took Butchy Boy for a first appointment before fixing they Said they require more. And he has to wait till a year old to get fixed because of the testicle remaining in the belly. They were booked so the nearest vet to take Betty to was 30 miles. I was afraid she'd go in heat if I waited. That vet added a vaccine morning of the surgery that tractor supply said she's up to date on. I'm getting confused what they actually need

Thank you! It's odd, it doesn't hurt or anything. I just don't want to end up with a big crater in my leg, lol.

Going as soon as I finish chicken chores. In an hour or so. It wasn't too painful, Granny. It was mostly just on the surface. BBL
