Last Tuesday, before we left for a family reunion in Minnesota, I was attaching the wysteria to a copper wire hubby strung along the coop. I planted it there a few years ago to cover the south side of the coop to help make it cooler in there. I stepped backwards forgetting there was a short pipe stuck in the ground hubby used to make a fence across the flower bed there to keep the chickens out. I somehow hit the post with my left foot which made me go airborne and slammed down on my lower back, then my head hit the ground.
The next morning it was excruciating to walk but got in the trailblazer with hubby, 11 chicks I couldn't leave behind, 2 dogs, and towing the Scamp camper. We had a family reunion 6.5 hours away. I had a seat cushion to sit on and was fine. Just getting in and out is painful. We got back last night and things have not improved so went to the doc.
I didn't get my x-ray results yet, but the appt was this afternoon so suppose those take a while. I figure I must've fractured my tailbone or bruised it something awful. It's fine if I stand still, sit, or lay, but walking is painful.
So the moral of the story is, you don't even have to be silly out mowing in the heat if you do something stupid like I did to hurt yourself!
