Granny's gone and done it again

@troyer maybe you need a sign with the quote "Do good unto all people especially those of the house hold of faith" on it in large print to where they cab read it as they pass by. You need something that will throw a guilt trip on them and make them think about what they are doing that is wrong. Down right sinful.
Generally people are not motivated by guilt to do good. Instead it tends to make them resentful and more likely to do bad. IME anyway.

I introduced my Sammy to the e-collar today. I think it is going to be helpful. The underground fencing got broken again and it costs $500 for them to come out and fix it. It's bedded in sharp gravel instead of sand where the trash truck drives over it. I only paid $44 for this e-collar and there is a wonderful article on here that details how to use it wisely and humanely. As a former dog trainer, I highly approve of it.

I love mine. Usually only have to use vibrate on him now. I actually rarely even use it anymore at all cause we haven’t been off leash lately. Anyway, love it. Mine was a lot more expensive though LOL I had a cheap one from TSC but it didn’t work for us for various reasons so I switched to a different one. Nothing wrong with the cheap ones though for most dogs.

The pups had to go because of the neighbors. I'm not sure why it's such a problem for us to have dogs, we live in the country and in the summer when all the leaves are on the trees we can see only one set of buildings. In the winter we can see a total of three other residents. We are on a very rural dirt road.
Anyway, in order to be peaceful neighbors we got rid of them.
We used to be amish, but left the lifestyle twenty three years ago. It just seems like they harbor ill will against us for that.
They call law enforcement/dog warden on our dogs for no reason at all. Even law enforcement tells us there's no logical reason for it.
We are planning on getting a dog in the future, but we needed some time to re-evaluate what we can do to keep things peaceable.
We tend to get purebreds and most of our neighbors have mutts, I'm wondering if that doesn't have a lot to do with it. I also specifically train my dogs a certain way to where they resond to me in confidence and not by cowering. There is a general spirit of extreme dominance in the traditions of the amish and if they can't make others cower before them at any time they seem to get angry. I want my dogs to be confident in all that they do and that depends solely on me. My dogs confidently respond to me, while a few amish admire that, most will not.
There are people that when they pass our place will heckle the dogs, I really don't like that and the dogs we've gotten so far don't like it either. I want to be able to train my dog to ignore that and possible to completely disdain it.
OMG What a bunch of asshats. I know how much you cared for them and all the work and effort you put in making them good dogs. I'm so sorry. :hugs Not sure I could of done what you were faced with. I hate to see a dog cower in fear when called. I know what you mean, Ive seen it. I would dare to see one of theirs come into your yard!
I wasn't putting myself down this morning. I actually didn't know that came from the bible. Just something Ive heard all my life. Too bad you couldn't have your place fenced, I would adopt 30 of the loudest dogs I could find!!
That’s too bad. I hope you figure out a way to get out of bed. Sounds awful. Maybe you can call Robert to help you up.
I had a whistle but didn't know I couldn't get up by myself til it was too late. Not sure how he would help me anyway. Can't pull me by my arms.
