Granny's gone and done it again

I think it would anger them, especially the trouble makers.
There is a general attitude of "I won't take anything off of you because you left the faith", the faith being the amish lifestyle. The vast majority in this area don't care whether I'm right with God, they only care that we left the amish faith.
Don't get me wrong though because there are those that are friendly and caring towards us, it's just not the general rule.
In most of their minds it's far worse to leave the amish faith than it is to live in sin.
No matter what the organization, even non religious ones there is strength in numbers and people get a bad feeling that they are accused of being wrong about their views or what ever. If every one in an area had Hereford cattle and right in the middle of them someone sold out his Hereford cattle for Aberdeen Angus I'm sure there would be negative sentiment toward him. Maybe even could happen with chicken breeds in the right areas.

I used to be with the Humane Society. One day back in the 90's I was parked outside a home waiting for Austin to finish up piano lessons. I noticed a couple of ladies visiting with a lab looking dog walking around them. All of a sudden I hear a man yelling at the dog to .. come here! The dog immediately went and stood by one of the women with its head down. The man started yelling more, taking steps toward the dog and pointing to the ground..come! Get over here! Dog cowards more so. Finally he got to the dog, grabbed his collar and picked his whole front end up dragging him towards home. I jumped our of my car and yelled at him. Hey! Stop dragging him! No wonder that dog won't come to you. Of course he got mad at me..still holding the dog up by the collar who by this time was choking and gagging. I said put him down, your choking him. He says things..I'm not hearing ..I'm just livid. I then tell him I'm with the Humae Society and if doesn't put him down I'll be calling authorities. He's in front of his house, let's the dog down, yells at him to get in there, pointing to the garage. Dog hurries into the garage. The man following. 😡
Just reading this makes me angry! The dog probably didn't even know kindness.
We have neighbors whose dogs cower up to them and I hate it. Some of the dogs will come running to me when I show up because I am kind to them. A gentle, kind touch does amazing things to a dog that is used to being yelled at.

Concerning the chicken breeds. I have Cubalaya, I must have a knack with them because if I don't prevent them from propagating they'll breed almost like rats. Every person so far, usually amish people have taken some and have no success with them at all. I have on several occasions taken a pair of proven broody hens and given them to these people to up the odds of them being able to raise them, all to no avail. They just can't seem to get the hens to be broody. I take those same hens back and they'll be broody and hatch chicks at least twice a year.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this but ... the Bible says it would happen. :hugs

As for the chickens ... animals know where they feel safe.

I was only up for half an hour during the night. Took another 81mg aspirin and a fast acting Melatonin. It's time to take that quick trip into town and back. Really need some bananas and that special formula of Sure Jell. Yesterday evening I dropped the left rear wheel off in a hole caused by a pickup after a heavy rain. I had to lift the rear of the mower out of it to where it could get traction. Now I'm paying for it with a really bad bruise in my left forearm. If I work my hand up and down I feel pain in the tendons and muscles. Of course I was a long way from anything could use to pry it out.
Ice it, Larry. 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off. Wrap the ice in cloth.
