Granny's gone and done it again

Haven't gotten our new truck back from the garage yet after the steering and brakes locked last week while DH was trying to drive home. Did however find out the manufacturer failed to tighten things up and all the steering fluid leaked out. The brakes failed because of that. Lucky he wasnt going down the highway or he likely wouldn't be here anymore. But now he's scared to drive it ... Working through stuff ..
Yikes, Farms! Thank Goodness no one was hurt!

Quiet day here today. DH and I were both whipped so we decided to have a play day. Rode our dirt bikes and otherwise set in the living room and watched movies on YouTube. Sunday dinner was crock pot special. Roast beef, roast chicken wings, carrots and baked potatoes. Love it cause there is very little clean up afterwards. Then we went for a walk in the woods with Buck and sissy Spot. It's so dry here. We really need some rain.

They had apples up at the Amish store last week but I didn't want a bushel. We have one tree, an Arkansas Black that has a couple pecks on it if the deer and raccoons leave it alone long enough for them to get riper. They make the best applesauce and keep for months in a cool place. I was hard put not to buy the bushel of Galas they had though. 18.50 for a bushel of apples is a darned good buy.

DH took a picture of my pumpkins. I'm hoping the two smaller ones are going to make good custard or pies. The way I do it, is I cut them into quarters, remove seeds, rinse them off, wrap them in plastic wrap then nuke them in the microwave till tender. Let them cool then scrape out the meat and let it drain in a large strainer that I have. It saves the work of peeling that hard shell off of them.
