Granny's gone and done it again

I just want to post this pic. The ladies really love Rojo. He's always surrounded by his groupies.

That's Rojo down there in the middle of the pile. They are all ignoring the handsome lavender cockerel at the left.

As soon as TSC gets in more Sapphire Gems in the spring I want to add another 5 or 6 to the first 5 I got. Just love them to death as they are ever so friendly. I can see getting mobbed every time I go in there coop. I won't keep a rooster in with them unless I fix things so they can free range with an electric fence. Actually two fences. One electric poultry fence and one with wire for dogs and coons and possums. If possible I want a fence also of field fence to keep dogs out period. Ma's about to leave to take daughter home. She is the one that got Tboned a few weeks ago leaving work when a guy ran a red light. She still has not settled with the insurance company and now has a lawyer involved because she has medical bills and her car was totaled. I've been working on the schematic for the small vineyard of muscadines with 3 extra vines of a southern table grape for raisins. While they are gone I'm staying inside and most likely will nap now. I didn't get up to stay up until 11:30 this morning. It's time for a snack to take meds with now. BBL.

It's getting dangerous out there. I've had a couple of close calls lately. This past Friday I was walking to my car out of Walmart and a woman cranked her car up, shoved it in reverse and shot the gas to it. If I hadn't been observant and hollered she would have run smooth over me. Then she gives me a look like she'd like to hang my guts on the fence post. There seems to be a lot more hate filled people out there anymore. Keep a wary eye.

I know what you mean!
Going to the meat section in the grocery store is a bit scary nowadays. The carnivores come in hunting and give you looks like they will run you over with their carts if you don't get out of the way fast enough, or if you pick up too many steaks. I have a carnivore to shop for waiting at home (mom) so I know I have to fight for those steaks, or else.

IMO, it was Covid that prompted the change. People got used to fighting for TP and it carried over into everything else.

Walmart really is the worst. I have a better experience shopping at Publix. But at the Dollar General before the hurricane, people were mighty cranky because there was only one checkout open and a dozen people waiting. One lady found an employee on his 5 minute break and we could hear her berating him from inside... swearing and stuff, she basically heckled him inside. I wanted to say something to her, but I've learned my own temper can make things worse so I did my best to keep my mouth shut. It's not like we enjoyed waiting, but geeze, you don't know what a person's day has been like. He could have been home making his own preparations for the hurricane.

I agree Publix is the most sane place for us to shop. We use them for the buy one get one sales and some of their high quality store brand items too. Walmart gets over half of our grocery purchases still. Dollar general gets some for their cheap plain white bread we use for chicken treats.
