It can, but keeping bread in the fridge actually tends to dry it out. So I guess, wrap it good.

Breyers Chocolate Chip for me. I don't know what it is about Breyers, it seems creamier.
I like to let it get a bit melty before eating, soft serve basically.

Mom freezes bread. Ok, it drives me crazy because it has a tendency to chuck itself at you every time you open the door.
But if you take frozen bread and wrap it in aluminum then toss it in the oven at 350... it comes out nice and fresh.

I bought some Nature's Own Honey wheat bread recently that lasted three weeks without going stale or molding. I don't know what they're putting in it.

I always buy a couple of leaves of bread to keep in the freezer.

ya, that's a long time for bread. We eat a loaf average 2xs a month
