Granny's gone and done it again

I'm sorry. That was ugly and hateful of me. I never knew welfare expected to get reimbursed! Head spinning.

Well... Welfare does not. But the states have the err, "freedom" to decide how to distribute and control welfare and medicare, as they first receive the federal money.

Mom recently had to jump through hoops for some new state authorization to keep her medicare in order to also keep her health insurance... even though she's on SS. They made it such a trial I blurted "They make it like this so some people give up!" and unfortunately it's probably the less capable who can't get it done.
Thankfully they approved it before the deadline expires, so she's ok.

It may be the best option Granny has is to rent out the property and move to a state where she can get services without it being counted against the property. And maybe by the time she (in the very distant future) passes, the laws will have changed or a court decision will have prevented them from taking the house from her family.

Morning everybody. I feel decadent this morning. Went to bed early, asleep by 11, feet didn't hit the floor until 10am. I haven't done that in I don't know how long.

Finally starting to feel like the side effects of the Metronidazole (nasty evil stuff. Take my advice, don't take it) are starting to ebb. Just having hot flashes this morning so hopefully I've seen the worse of it. Unfortunately, Augmentin and Metron. are the SOP treatment for diverticulitis but not for me.

DH and I hiked out to the pasture last night to see if we could see the northern lights. This is what we saw in north central Missouri:

Pretty amazing!

To everyone in the path of Milton, God watch over you and send his angels to spread their wings over you and protect you from harm.

Be safe everyone.

IDK it might be worth a try. There were two X ranked solar flares over the weekend that are just now reaching us. One was an X-9 which is VERY big as far as solar flares are concerned.

They are easier to see if you have a good camera that can take night pictures. I have a deficit in my color vision so all I see with them are pale colors, pinks yellows and greens. The colors come out well with photography. We used our go-pro but my husband says you can use your cell phone if you can set it up for a 4 second exposure and set it stationary. Make sure you turn off the flash.

Now I really will be back later, lol. Still haven't let the chickens out. They probably think they are on their own.

Is Tom on the deed?
yes
My mother had welfare. When she passed, we sold her house. Money was ours.
things have changed since then

It is like this in EVERY state now
