Granny's gone and done it again

Lost my paternal grandfather to a brain aneurysm. He was about 72. I was in the second grade at the time. My maternal grandfather was 82 and I was a sophomore in high school.
You were blessed to have known them. I never knew either of my grandfathers. My mom's dad died as a result of a copper mining accident when she was about six. And my dad's dad was an illegal alien who got sent back across the border when dad was just a boy.

He later became a pharmacist, remarried (which made him a bigamist since he couldn't divorce my dad's mother), raised up another family, and put all of those kids through college. I wish I could have known him. He died when I was about 12. Dad went to the funeral.

How sad..

Was your Dad's Dad an asylum seeker? Coming from a torturous country?
