Granny's gone and done it again

SD surgery went well yesterday. They managed to get the whole shunt out from the brain to the belly. She has 2 bur holes in her skull and they are sending her home today headache free! She was crying happy tears. :love
My Richard with Spina Bifida was one of the 10% that didn't need a shunt. The babies that do need one need it switched out periodically as they grow..putting longer tubes in. Thankful he didn't have to have it. The reason being needed is because their spinal fluid isn't being handled, it stays in the brain area. You may have heard of babies back in the day with water on the brain. The heads could swell up to the size of a small pumpkin. Had to be painful. Then the shunt came along. A real blessing they figured them out.

I remember them. I seen a couple small children like that too. They would say child has water on the brain. SD has MS.
