Granny's gone and done it again

Today was the last harvest of the year for us. We got a peach basket of jalapenos, two gallons of cayenne, a few poblanos, and another weeks supply of fresh eggplant. Now after we get a frost I'm tilling all the residue under.
Will it be a long time before you can plant again?? I know your not having a huge garden but you are planting some aren't you? Sad because its the end of the nice weather

We will plant mostly okra and peppers next year and will use it to barter for what we don't grow as well as those two things do. Okra is a high dollar crop here. It's not hard to grow and pick anywhere from $50 to $150 a week with okra. We still have collards growing and they will be supplying us with greens until summer hits next year and they bolt then. In about two more weeks we should be able to harvest collards weekly for enough for two meals a week until they bolt. We will plant some Kentucky Wonder pole beans and Roma bush beans for the grand kids and great grand kids to pick along with a few rows of purple hull peas. Not fooling with sweet corn. Not fighting the raccoons and worms next year. We are planting Muscadines where we had the large garden this year. Much easier to care for than annual vegetables and another high dollar crop.
