I've had to keep the chickens penned up for a couple of weeks due to stray dogs, plus ... I don't trust Ryder yet. We're starting him on the e-collar now though, now that Sammy's staying home and NOT CHASING CARS!!!

Using Sucralose instead of sugar makes it cost us more but it is worth it not so spike blood sugar.

Many years ago we had a small bantam rooster that would chase kids on bicycles when they would ride by our house. Wish I could have gotten some video of that.

My dog Star helped me round up the chickens to be locked up and she did a really great job til she got too confident . One was running from her because also knew what was going on so Star picked her up and carried the hen back to the coop! She was a bird dog I guess with a soft mouth so no damage was done except for scaring the hen.

I have an 8' stick I carry when round up chickens. They get the message after a few gentle taps on the bum.
