Granny's gone and done it again

I had a second cousin who was big on the LPGA circuit who found a lump in her breast (years ago, 1980's maybe) her dr said no worries ... she ultimately died of breast cancer. Her younger sister also later had breast cancer and ultimately so did her dad, my cousin. You have to advocate for yourself. They have better diagnostics now, even for dense tissue, 3D scans I think. The scans are not so painful any more. Did I tell you I got stuck in a machine once? The tech got me all smooshed up and ready to scan and then the power went out. She left to go find someone to fix it and I was left in that awkward and uncomfortable position for about 15 minutes. Yup, it could only happen to me! :lau

My mother and sister had uterine cancer. My Grandmother died from breast cancer. Glad I had a hysterectomy back in the 90's. I had a lump the size of my thumb taken out back in the 80's from my left breast. Not cancer.
My mom passed away at 74 my dad at 73 I'm 71. So.. ??
On a MRI I had back in 2017 it showed bilateral white matter. Supposedly the lifespan after being diagnosed with that you have 7.96 years to live. This year will make 8 years since I was diagnosed. Microvascular diseaes and my Vestibular disease is part of that. Stroke possibility. Guess we'll see. I'm not worried about it either.
But, we are outliving our parents, etc., because of the continuing advance in medicines. My grandmother and cousin both died of stroke and I have pretty high blood pressure right now, but the doctor and pharmacist are working on that for me. Thankfully my cholesterol is good and my carotids sound clear. They were scanned about a year and a half ago and they were clear then too. So, like you, I'm not worried, and I have some faith in the advance of medicine.

(No, not everything in medicine is perfect, but let's not get into that.) 🤣
