Granny's gone and done it again

That's during the game. I think we'll be home in time to watch it (the game, that is!). We don't generally watch football, but hey. It's the Chiefs. My brother is rooting for the other guys. I may have to divorce him. :lau
Oh oh, they aren't doing well. I have a sister that lives in Kansas City MO. I was born there. I don't watch football. She's wanting the Chiefs to win of course.

They are very picky. There is very little human food that they will eat so they do more sniffing then licking. I had cereal with yogurt and they won't touch that. They won't eat seasoned chicken but if I have a plain piece of chicken they will eat it. But dried cranberries are sweet and they will eat them. I don't eat sweet baked food. But I will hard boil eggs and I will eat the white and they will eat the yolks. They will smell bologna but not eat it.

It's a joke that they know what is good, because they won't eat seasonings, and I can't handle many seasoning either. So if they won't eat meat, generally it doesn't work for me either
Mine loves pretty much any people food. Oh, bananas. Cooper will eat a piece, but slowly. Bella stands up on those legs like I've shown pictures of when I start to peel a banana. She can hardly wait.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • dash of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 Tbs butter

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. As oven preheats, place the butter in a 9x13 baking dish and put in oven for the butter to melt.
  • Place the eggs, milk, flour, salt and vanilla in a blender; cover and process until smooth.
  • Pour batter into the baking dish with the melted butter. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown and puffy
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle generously with syrup and powdered sugar or fresh lemon juice and powdered sugar.

NOTES

  • To keep German Pancakes from sticking to the pan, make sure you let the butter completely melt in the pan before pouring the batter in.
  • If you want to have more peaks in your pancakes, try swirling the batter when you pour so it mixes more with the butter! If you pour directly into the middle then the butter will push to the sides and that is where you will get your raised peaks!
  • I always prepare my batter in a blender! It's so much quicker and easier to wash than a mixing bowl and it combines the batter better as well!

Sounds really good.

INGREDIENTS

DUTCH BABY PANCAKES:

DAIRY FREE CARAMEL SAUCE (this will make extras):

  • ▢ 2 cups unsweetened full-fat coconut milk
  • ▢ 1 cup Natural Sweetener (or allulose)
  • ▢ 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • ▢ 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Place an 8 inch cast iron skillet into the oven and preheat oven to 425 degrees F (400 degrees F in convection ovens). Make sure the skillet preheats and gets very hot.
  • In a blender, combine the eggs, almond milk, protein powder (any flavor will work… strawberry??? yum!), baking powder, salt, vanilla, and natural sweetener. Blend for about 1 minute or until foamy.
  • Using an oven mitt, remove the skillet from the oven and place the coconut oil into the skillet. Swirl the skillet to coat the inside of the skillet.
  • Pour the batter into the skillet. Bake for about 18-20 minutes or until the pancake is puffed and golden brown. TIP: POKE HOLES in the Dutch Baby with a toothpick about 5 minutes before they finish baking to release moisture so it doesn't shrink.
  • Remove the pancake from the oven, spread additional butter or coconut oil on the pancake, top with dairy free caramel sauce if desired, cut into wedges and enjoy!

DAIRY FREE CARAMEL SAUCE (this will make extras):

  • Bring coconut milk and natural sweetener to a boil and vigorously simmer for 40-60 min until slightly brown in color. The longer you simmer, the thicker it will become. Remove from heat and mix in oil and vanilla. Cool. Makes 12 servings (this WILL make extras).

That's funny! I've tried bananas already and they won't touch them. I wish they would like vegetables. Like squash or sweet potato
