@cynthia12, how YOU doing today?

My silly broodies, according to DH, are still sitting in a corner of the brooder, meditating on the condition of the universe and joined at the hip. Chicks were back under them for warmth so apparently THEY have some sense, lol.

Did I tell y'all I have figured out (finally!) how to get a peaceful night's sleep around here without the dogs (*cough* Sammy!) going on barking sprees every 15 minutes at the coyotes? I've been keeping him tied up on leash and attached to a small table at my feet from about 8 pm till feeding time in the morning. Never says a word all night! I don't know how his previous owners taught him that. Sure would have been useful to know this like, FIVE YEARS AGO!!! :barnie Lol :lau

I came on to see how YOU are doing. 🙂
So bedrest ~ very sensible. When my knee acts up, rest definitely helps. Then I seem to be good to go for a day or two on it.
Going to leave around 12:40 to get my shots on my head and neck. I've done well with these shots in my shoulders and knee so I am thinking this could work to stop these headaches. The Neuro said some folks do well for a lengthy time and some need them weekly. We'll see I guess.
Granny. Haven't read all through, but saw you haven't been sleeping. 😔 Maybe I'll see you did last night. I know how busy you are!
Farm..still praying for your husband too. You too. ❤️ Granny and I can certainly relate to taking care of our loved ones.
SHREK..you're awesome doing the things you know that will help you. You're one strong lady!
Larry and Iris, you make me tired reading what all you do. Sounds like you are taking it easy when necessary!
Cap stay strong. You've got a lot going on too.
And TWIST, where are you??
Sure is nice to be able to come and vent here. I try so hard not to do this too much around my kids. I do have to let them know certain things so they'll not be shocked and say what?! Why didn't you tell us. Blessed am what I am. Blessed.

Praying for you, Cynthia, hope those shots help you feel better today. ❤️🙏❤️

Ortho office called me. I'm scheduled to go see her Tuesday, the 15th. Tax day, lol! At 2:30. I told them PT is making me worse (at this point I've only been twice). DH brought the wheelchair back up from the basement, sigh.

Very dark skies over to the NE. And Sammy's acting tense. Looks like we are in for a T-storm. He's our weatherdog.

My two broody hens are still sitting side by side in a corner of the brooder like they are expecting something exciting to happen, although they each hatched a chick. In other words, they are still broody! :eek: While their chicks roam around the brooder pretty much unattended! :eek: I texted their breeder and she said they are bad mommies! :eek: Not sure what to do, we already pulled them out of gen pop, the silly birds. Advice? Anyone???

If they still have eggs under them this is perfectly normal. As long as the chicks have an easy path to get back to Momma (no heights). Mom will call for them eventually. She may not do so until they peep because they've gotten cold.

It's funny we have broodies hatching at the same time! I was just out there earlier watching one of the littles who jumped up on a temporary blocker (coming out tonight), momma was happy to keep an eye on her until baby complained she was cold.
That baby was actually from TSC yesterday evening, when I was getting feed there was an elderly employee who was really upset they had somehow forgotten this single bantam chick in the back. She was trying to put her in with a duckling for a friend (no chicks left) but the bantam was chasing the duck around. I explained she wanted the duck to sit on her because she was freezing. So anyway, I brought her home, but she was so cold in the box alone I had to drive with her in my bra (not fun, lol). Stuck her under Broody Cocomo last night and they took to each other right away. There are 5 others from our eggs hatched so far... they're twice the size! But my neighbor wants the chick to add to her bantam pen when she's old enough to go, so that's nice.
