Granny's gone and done it again

Just checking in...it has been a long day. Pa's not feeling well so he may not be on tonight. I'm trying to get him to go to bed and rest. Youngest daughter is here for the weekend so we should be able to get some things planted. That will relieve some of the stress in our lives. Farms, I will be praying for you both tomorrow. Granny, when I was doing home health I would call my patients the night before to schedule a time that was convenient for them. Most wanted to be seen after 9 a.m. except 1 old man that wanted me to come at 7 a.m. so I could help him fix his breakfast. Not part of my job description but I helped him anyway. Hope everyone sleeps well tonight.

Well I'm sorry to hear about little Freddy Mafia, I had taken quite a shine to him. But what life he lived, eh? I hope Cocomo figures it out too but maybe Goldie just needs to have a small family. Say hi to your mom for me. :frow

🤣 You are funniness!
Mum says "Hi back, and thank you for all your love and support".

I don't know if it's a terrible idea, but I put a brooder plate in with Cocomo and the four... I'm hoping if the gang gets left out in the cold they might find their way under it. There's plenty of room as we arranged a really huge dog crate I found on sale for the same price as the small ones.

Goldie is the only broody right now not being given a job. Satin and Freckles have claimed the available spots, so every evening it's an argument with Goldie that she has to go to bed on the roost. Last time she had got to raise a family, just one hatched, and granted she's a great pullet but I suspected Goldie of getting up too often or just having a tiny bottom, lol (Genetic Hackle). And she only just weaned Moanna for good at 4 months old and twice her own size :p

Speaking of things planted.. The amerillis (spelling) bulb that bloomed so beautiful last year has been sitting in a paper Mcdonalds bag since 7-3-24 in my fridge.I asked Nancy 2 weeks ago to plant it and today it is starting to grow a leaf!!!

Yay!
I love Amaryllis! Somehow manage to kill mine in summer times, but I plan to get some more this fall and try again. I like the really dark burgundy ones at Christmas, not the light red ones.

This one was red but like cherry red and a good 18 inches in the air! that's 8 months in the fridge
