Granny's gone and done it again

I thought I had posted the last post but hadn't. Brain is on overload I guess.

Hi @ShrekDawg! How the heck ya doin, girl?

We had a real bummer happen today. I was out cleaning the last of the chicken pens so DH doesn't have to wade though doodie to take care of the little heathens for me. Went to the barn to get more buckets for the litter (we spread it on the yard for fertilizer) and a stray cat shot out of the barn and wound up under our van. I could tell by the way it was moving that it was hurt...bad hurt. There was a strange car driving up and down our road last night late. We figure it dumped kitty out and subsequently it was hit by a car overnight. Very pretty kitty boy. Not very old. We got it out from under the van by backing the van up. Poor thing was too hurt to move. We offered it food and water and it turned both down. DH said it was dying. we got a cardboard box out and got it around him for shade. Sure enough an hour later, he had passed. Shoulder shattered, probably internal injuries.

If the owners had come to our door and said they had a kitty that they couldn't keep and would we like him we would have taken him in and loved him like crazy. We have a sign hanging on one of our doors that says 'Strays Welcome'. I just feel so darn sad for the poor little thing and wish I could spend 5 minutes in a locked room with the owner for making their problem our problem and not having the responsibility to deal with it.

We buried him in our pet cemetery. Called him Kitty. He was ours for a few hours. :hit

Outside of making dinner and feeding the chickens I'm done for the day. Have to be up by 5 in the morning.....that is just so wrong on so many different levels....so trying to relax a bit now. DH and I went for a walk with two of the dogs. Still picking ticks off of me and thinking of @CapricornFarm with every one I find.

Gawd I HATE ticks.

My daughter has a friend who's knee cap did that when they were younger. She said it would slip completely around to the back! 😮 Surgery did the trick. :)
Ouch! GC's slips to the side. It did it again last night. She ws in bed, she said she was just stretching when it happened. ☹️ Dr said it would happen again and she will need surgery. At least she didn't scream this time!

I saw a snake that was 3.14 meters long.
