The buffalo, owned, trained, and ridden by T.C. Thorstenson, was pitted against a quarter horse named Two Eyed Burt, who was ridden by "Cowboy" Jack Kaenel, in a thrilling 110-yard sprint down the stretch.

In a race that captured the crowd's attention, Harvey Wallbanger showcased his surprising speed and power, edging out his equine competitor by half a length. Despite being a buffalo, he proved to be a fierce competitor, demonstrating remarkable agility and strength in the race.
