Granny's gone and done it again

I'm sorry you lost your friend. Morphine can have serious side effects like slow, shallow breathing, slow heart rate, seizures, hallucinations, and mood changes. When I was doing hospice care we gave it in small doses every 2 to 3 hours to make the patient comfortable even though it could hasten the end. The 1 time I was given morphine I thought the doctor had sausages where his fingers should have been and there were bugs crawling all over the ceiling of the room.
Thank you. DH kept asking me for it every hour. I didn't even think he had that much pain. I think he didn't know what he was doing. Don't get me wrong, he has pain. But he was totally depending on me. I was afraid the morphine was hurting his thinking

Nurse called me. Said she talked to my Drs. office asking for orders on his arm. Dr wouldn't give them but instead her and the nurse made an appt. for Tom. :eek:Nurse said it's Thursday at 11:30.
So ... Tom's arm is bleeding and this is what the dr said? Bring him in 3 days from now and we'll see what we can do about it? Am I missing something here?
