Granny's gone and done it again

Dog dust mites, some different plants
And you have dogs right!? I’m technically allergic to dogs too and cats and gerbils oddly LOL

But I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life (until we had to rehome Luna 😭) so I think I outgrew the dog one LOL

Still allergic to cats though. At least Luna cause she’s long haired and when she would get in my face, it would cause me problems hahah

I think I’m also technically allergic to bird dander too and/or horses or hay or something associated with them cause I would always get bad allergies in the barn when I used to ride LOL and I think one time I got chopped straw or something for the chicken bedding and was SOOOOOOOOO itchy all over my arms etc., anywhere it touched, so I had to shower a bunch to get it off LOL never again. But regular fresh hay or pine shavings didn’t do that. Except the chicken dust in there sometimes caused me allergies.

We have some severe weather coming tomorrow late afternoon/ evening. Sammy's vet gave me some Gabapentin to hopefully get him through it. Do y'all think it will do him any good? And if it's not enough, I can give him Benadryl on top of it, right?
How did the gabapentin work?

He's been pretty chill all afternoon, but ... the weather changed and we didn't get the anticipated storm! Not only that but the expected severe weather for later tonight isn't going to materialize either. So ... I guess it's working well although it hasn't really been put to the test. But I will say this, he's not compulsively licking his front legs like he normally does. I've had him to the vet recently bc I thought he mght have had a tick or a thorn or something, and he won't let me examine them ... but the vet couldn't find anything.

Sounds like anxiety. I know someone who had dog with severe anxiety and I think he was on like Prozac or something for it. One used for humans normally. And I have heard of lots of others using anxiety meds with great success. So maybe he needs some sort of anxiety med or something? Or this one could work maybe. Totally understand if you don’t want to go that route though.

My Gracie did that. She would lick her front paw, or the couch! I would be saying quite often, stop that licking! Heard it's a sign of gut problems..doesn't make sense to me. They say..pro biotic. Bought them. Didn't work. I believe it's a self calming action. Now, I'm catching Cooper licking his front right paw. Not as often as Gracie did. He's also one to be afraid of a loud storm..and fireworks!!

I’ve heard drooling can be a sign of nausea but never heard of the licking one. Brew licks the couch a lot. And people. 🤣😭
