Granny's gone and done it again

I was at the orthopedist today. He doesn't want to do any shots or anything else right now. My egfr was pretty low and the creatinine was high(kidney function) He said to use ice but no pain pills right now because of my kidneys. I'm allowed to work anything that doesn't bother my knee.

It looks like a big knob on my knee cap. The whole knee isn't swollen, just the knee cap. Looks like an elbow sticking out of my knee. He said my bone structure is really really good.
I'm happy with everything except I need to change my diet for my kidneys. Yikes!
what was your egfr? That's what I have been keeping an eye on for Tom. He has gone from 15 to 29 since he was cathed.

I left the house today! Without the walker!!! Melissa had to take her car in for a brake job and it turned out they needed to replace another part they could not find locally so I had to go get her. I just used a cane because I only had to get from the house to the car and back. And later, do it again, to pick it up. The only time that really hurt my knee was getting out of the car and back up the steps into the house. But ... I did it! :celebrate

My PT. Says if it hurts don’t do it.
I told mine, no pain no gain and he said, not always.:th

The old saying "if it hurts don't do it" doesn't apply to PT. I know when I had my knee replacements I thought they were going to kill me but it was worth it in the end. My advice is to take you PP before therapy (I know you already are), rest when you can and do all things in moderation. You will survive! and be better than ever.
Thanks, Iris, yep, taking the Tramadol with 2 extra strength tylenol (makes an Ultraset) before every PT session and exercise routine. I spent most of the afternoon resting. We had to stop by a friend's house in town before coming home. She's a totally independent 84 years old delightful but can rattle on at warp 8. She is also a HAM and we have been trying to help her set up one of her radios. It's so cute as DH would ask her a question and she would give him a bland stare and admitted she didn't know what he was talking about (electronic jargon) all the while I was trying to stifle yawns and stay awake because my session at PT had worn me out.

Now I'm heading out to murder weeds in the driveway and feed the chickens afterwards...not the weeds that is. I intend to spray them, the weeds not the chickens.

One of my oldest bantam hens isn't acting right. Kind of mopey with a crusty butt. Need to check her and see if I can get her cleaned up better and see if I can figure out what is going on with her. She's about 8 years old so nothing good I'm sure.

Thanks for the pep talk. I keep telling myself it's only been 7 weeks post surgery and I'm doing great considering that. I see the surgeon on the 8th and not really expecting to get any more activity bones tossed my way. But one can hope!

Two months ago I was at 42 and now it went down to 31. He doesn't want to take the chance of introducing an infection with the needle. He said he can sterilize the needle but when it gets against my skin, it can pick up an infection. It would be more problematic because of my kidneys. I'm going to talk with the PCP. My "sodium is fine so I'm not dehydrated. It must be my diet but I will ask her to make sure it's not my medication

weed whipping is how I had my Stemi . Its more strenuous then people think. I haven't done that since and boy does it show! LOL Ryobi is a good brand.
I am taking all my meds. then some.. I found some peridium that expired a couple months ago. IDK if it will help or not as I haven't needed to go.
I think its supposed to cool down a little here tomorrow
Granny, they sell the equivalent of peridium over the counter at Walmart and other drug stores. Works just as well. I hope you get to feeling better soon
