THIS!! I see her pop out of me more and more as the days go by.
They say, The apple don't fall far from the tree...

My peeps, what are you supposed to do when someone is choking on fluid? I guess is it goes down the lungs. I do it often and Tom just did.. Its was a scary, bad one too and all I did was sit here and watch.
Google wont tell me. I guess they don't know either. lol

Granny that is called aspiration and yeah, not fun if it happens to you or you witness it happening to somebody.

Found this on the net under the search 'how to clear an accidental aspiration of fluid'.

When someone aspirates, quick action is paramount. First, it's essential to remain calm. Panic can exacerbate the situation for both the person aspirating and those around them.

1. Assess Breathing: Check if the individual is able to breathe normally. If they are coughing forcefully, encourage them to continue coughing as this may help expel the material.

2. Call for Help: If breathing becomes labored or if they cannot cough effectively, it’s time to call emergency services immediately.

3. Perform Back Blows: For adults and children over one year old who cannot cough effectively:

  • Stand behind them.
  • Lean them slightly forward.
  • Deliver five firm blows between their shoulder blades with the heel of your hand.
It goes on with other instructions if you want to read more you can find it here:

One thing I can remember my mom doing for me when I aspirated fluid was hold my arms straight over my head. I don't know the science behind it but it always helped, that and the back slapping.

For @Cynthia12 and everyone out there dealing with pain:

I was up early (7 a.m.ish), just got busy and didn't come on here to howfy at everybody. So far I have paid my credit card bill, boiled eggs and made egg salad for dinner and put my laundry in. Gave GC a quick (5-min.) lesson to get Ryder under control on leash, Come, Sit, Down and quit biting leash and hands like an idiot and pay attention! He is a year old today, this should all be old hat but she has never asked me for help.

MC, it took a bit for me to spot your visitor, I might not have if you had not posted both pics! Amazing he is in velvet already. That is an unusual tree, reminds me a bit of the Navajo willows we have in NM. Great scenery. And ... a heron? Tell me again what state you are in.

MC? Twarn't me, Blue Girl! It be Prostar who had the visitor. We get Sandhill cranes up here in our ponds on occasions but nothing that pretty.
