Granny's gone and done it again

got to almost 96 here today. Just too hot. Heat index was 105 but that was at the airport. Prolly much higher here.
I believe it was 96 on the thermometers in the shade, with a Real Feel of 105 - 115 in various places down here in our neck of the woods (SE portion of the State). Brutal.

When I cleaned poop trays today, there was significantly less poop than usual. This tells me they are not eating as much, and I deduce it is because they are not drinking as much - which in turn tells me their water must have gotten uncomfortably warm. I checked on it throughout the day and sure enough, about 2:00 in the afternoon the sun shifts and their water ends up in the sun, where it had been in the shade earlier. Tomorrow I'll go out and shift it so it stays cool.

Hottest time in my lifetime was Macon Ga. 108 real temps and Im not remembering the feels like but I think it was the 120s. People were dropping like flies. 8 deaths I believe. I lived in a tin can might as well call it. It was a small metal trailer w/o even a fan until ex went to a junk yard and brought a squirrel cage (I think that's what he called it) home. I was trying to sleep outside on my car. Those temps continued for about a week. Oh, did I tell you? I was pregnant at the time.
